· Experience in algorithm development in one or more of the following domains: mathematical statistics, nonlinear or mixed integer programming for constrained mathematical optimization, timeseries modeling, dynamic linear models, state space models, hierarchical Bayesian models, machine learning.

· Proficiency in a programming language or modeling language for quant applications such as Python, F#, C#, C++, R, GAMS, AMPL, Matlab.

Job Description:
This position is dedicated to measuring, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators and overall quality of our core business data assets. Working with engineering the data analyst will research and resolve quality issues. The analyst will test and evaluate existing and potential data sources measuring their strengths and weaknesses.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks:
Measure, track, and report key performance indicators and quality metrics of large data sets using Hadoop and MySQL databases
Using Tableau, Excel, and other reporting tools effectively communicate to stakeholders the strengths, weaknesses, KPIs, and other quality metrics of data sets.
Find and resolve data issues, ensuring timely short term solutions and long term preventative solutions
Build and improve on existing processes to ensure data and data quality are managed properly
Use regular expressions to identify and map data attributes
Test and evaluate existing and new sources of data

Skills & Qualifications
Self-motivated and willing to take ownership
Capable of working independently on multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
Creative problem solving and research skills with an ability to recognize patterns in data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Regular Expressions, Hadoop, Hive, MySQL, Python, R, Tableau, and analytical reporting preferred but not required. Onsite training will be provided.

Education
3-5 years related experience preferred
College degree, preferably in business, economics, math or a related analytical field

Pratt is looking for a data analyst to join their predictive analytics team. This role will be analyzing data around shop visits for jet engines.

The role will help to build out analysis and data/statistics models supporting their sales teams who are selling Pratt Engines. Much of the data being analyzed includes information around shop visit dates, what was fixed, environment data around how the engines were flown, and other generic information around the shop visit etc.

The goal of this role will be to help predict upcoming shop visits and their costs. This will in turn help the sales teams to educate their customers.

Much of this data will be pulled out of a large Teradata database. They will assist in building out the models.

This is a great opportunity for someone to work in a group where they can immediately impact the bottom line. They are also working on some really cutting-edge jet engines highly regarded within the airline industry.

A Masters in Stats isn’t required. Experience with R is a necessity and a math or stats bachelor degree as well. Bayesian experience is strongly preferred.

Apple is actively hiring Data Scientists and currently conducting interviews. They have multiple openings in both the Bay Area as well their new campus in Austin for MS and PhD candidates who will be graduating in the coming months.

The team is responsible for tackling fraud, abuse and account security across Apples internet services, including the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music and iCloud. Much of their work is fundamentally adversarial in nature. As much as they rely on solid statistics and machine learning, their success requires creativity, imagination and determination. The target is constantly moving. It's a challenge, but it's fun and interesting work!

General Overview:

The ideal candidate has outstanding analytical ability, knowledge of econometric modeling, business acumen, intense intellectual curiosity, strong technical skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. He/she will have a strong bias toward data driven decision making and the capability to use advanced mathematics and/or statistics. Responsibilities:

 Collaborate with programming, merchandising, inventory management, and finance as a leader of quantitative and statistical analysis. Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
 Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation. Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
 Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop predictive models. Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
 Learn and understand a broad range of JTV’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use.
 Drive development of quantitative and statistical models necessary for evaluation and implementation of new strategies with product managers. Build scalable database solutions when required.
 Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
 Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, data mining, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modeling, game theory and customer/product segmentation.
 Participate in periodic reviews with JTV Executive Leadership team.
 Lead process management changes that result from analysis and ensure the changes are implemented throughout organization.
Basic Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
 Experience solving complex quantitative business challenges; experience in the development of pricing analysis or merchandising analysis is a strong plus.
 Verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
 Working knowledge of accounting, financial, operational, and marketing principles
 Experience using R, Stata, SQL, and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
 Has the ability to communicate with executive level management on complex issues.
