The Academic Competitiveness Grant awards up to $750 during the first year of undergraduate study and up to $1,300 for the second year for students in a STEM major such as mathematics. For outstanding graduate students in survey statistics. Ellis R. Ott Scholarship for Applied Statistics and Quality Management
Scholarship recipient must be a student who is planning to enroll or is currently enrolled in a Master's degree or higher-level U.S. or Canadian program that has a concentration in applied statistics and/or quality management. $5000 cash award. Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship
The Gertrude M. Cox memorial scholarship is for femail full-time graduate students of U.S. or Canadian citizenship or permanent residents. Hertz Fellowship
The Hertz Fellowship is a merit-based award for students studying in the applied sciences and mathematics. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Sophomore students majoring in disciplines related to oceanic and atmospheric science, research, technology, or education, and supportive of the purposes of NOAA's programs and mission, e.g., biological, social and physical sciences; mathematics; engineering; computer and information sciences; and teacher education.
NOAA is accepting applications from students who will have Official Junior status in Fall 2008.

IGERT Grant
The IGERT Grant, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, is a program to promote interdisciplinary studies in STEM fields such as mathematics at specific institutions throughout the U.S. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship
The Quality and Productivity Section of the American Statistical Association announces the 2008 Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship to support student participation in the Quality and Productivity Research Conference (QPRC) in Madison, WI June 4–6. Two winners will each receive a $2500 grant, a $500 stipend toward travel expenses, and complimentary registration for the conference and the short-course "Graphical Analysis of Designed Experiments" taught by Veronica Czitrom. The application deadline is March 17, 2008. Scholarship recipients will be announced the first week of April. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship
This program is designed to promote graduate studies in STEM fields such as mathematics among U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Recipients are expected to excel in academic research, teaching and publishing. The grant provides $30,000 stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education allowance a year for three years. Deadline is Fall.
