Rebecca Nichols – a BYU Statistics alumna and former visiting professor – jointly with her husband, Luke, made a generous donation to the BYU Department of Statistics, establishing the “Joseph L. and Shelley M. Reimann Endowed Fund,” named in honor of Rebecca’s parents. Her motivation for giving was inspired by her gratitude for the education she received, the experiences that shaped her professional and personal life, and the scholarships that allowed her to graduate from both the BS and MS programs debt-free.

This year, at the 2025 Joint Statistical Meeting, Dr. David B. Dahl was granted the ASA Fellow Award for groundbreaking work in random partition models and Bayesian nonparametic modeling, substantive contributions to statistical computing, new statistical methods in computational biology, and service to the profession.
