Student Teaching and Research Opportunities 

The Department of Statistics recommends that students interested in becoming a Research Assistant for a faculty member within the Department:

  1. Apply to become a Teaching Assistant (TA) to develop experience and depth in understanding and explaining concepts.
  2. Take STAT 330.

Applications for TA positions open up around the time of the registration deadline for the next semester here: Teacher Assistant Application.
Once an RA, some faculty members take students to academic conferences to present and gain feedback on their research.
