2023-2024 Course Changes

At the end of April we sent out an email regarding the new options for STAT 386/486 and STAT 482/483 options. Since that time there have been new developments and we now have new updated information regarding these two course sequences.

Traditionally, the CS Department has co-taught STAT 482/483 capstone courses with one of our faculty. However, the CS Department has lost their professor to a new General Authority assignment and they will not be able to make the shift to provide a new professor to co-teach with our faculty. THEREFORE, the Statistics Department has decided NOT to teach STAT 482/483 this coming Fall 2023 and Winter 2024.

What this means: Since we will not be able to offer the capstone courses, we will instead open up another section of STAT 386 for Fall 2023 AND TEACH STAT 486 WINTER 2024. What this will look like:

Fall 2023

TWO sections of STAT 386

Plus one section of STAT 486

Winter 2024

One section of STAT 386

One section of STAT 486

Please keep in mind that this new change is just for the 2023-2024 school year.
